France face World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and the Netherlands on October 7 and 10 respectively.
But Giroud hasn’t been included in the squad.
And Koscielny claims the Chile attacker’s dazzling displays in an Arsenal shirt aren’t doing Giroud any favours.
He said: “It’s difficult for Olivier Giroud at the moment, because Alexis Sanchez is currently in great form at Arsenal.”
The experienced target man has also be struggling with injuries and is currently nursing a toe problem.
The 29-year-old is yet to start a game for Arsene Wenger’s men this season, but has made four sub appearances.
He’s also yet to find the net and received a red card against Paris St-Germain in the Champions League.
However, Giroud did start for France against Italy in September and bagged a goal during the 3-1 victory.
